Kevin Bedwell has been the architect of one of the most explosive offenses in Piedmont High School history. Serving as Offensive Coordinator, he led the Bulldogs to an impressive 13-1 record, clinching the Class 3A Region 6 Championship. The team averaged an outstanding 39.8 points per game, a testament to his innovative play-calling and ability to adapt to the strengths of his players. The offense also shattered the school passing record, tallying over 3,500 yards for the season.
Week after week, the Bulldogs’ offense consistently outpaced their opponents, using precision and execution to dominate the field and build momentum.
Star wide receiver Rollie Pinto had a record-breaking season under Bedwell’s guidance, hauling in 108 receptions for 1,829 yards, setting a new state record. Pinto reflected, “Coach Bedwell believed in us and gave us the confidence to succeed.”
Coach Bedwell was also an assistant on the 3A state champion 2019 and 2021 Piedmont teams as well as the state runner up squads in 2018 and 2022. He had returned to Piedmont to coach wide receivers and defensive lineman under his former head coach Steve Smith in 2018.
From his playing days at Piedmont where he was the 1A-3A Calhoun County Player of the Year in 2006 to his current role as Offensive Coordinator, Coach Bedwell’s dedication to the Piedmont Bulldogs is unwavering. Head Coach Jonathan Miller noted, “Kevin’s passion and leadership have elevated this program.”
