If you were a ranked team in AHSAA football last week it didn't pay to be Class 3A . Seven of the Top 10 in 3A lost this past weekend. The state's ranked teams had an overall record of 4-5 against out of state opponents this past week. It also was not a good week to be one of last season's state champions. Thompson, Pike Road, Vigor, Piedmont, Clarke County and Sweet Water all lost. The only state champion to win was 6A Clay Chalkville, who beat Hueytown 42-8.
