Jamey Dubose Leaves Phenix City and Heads to Lowndes County Ga.

Central’s Jamey Dubose has ended his highly successful tenure and is headed to the state of Georgia.

Dubose has resigned to take the job at Lowndes County, Georgia. He replaces longtime coach Randy McPherson, who had been the coach since 2002 and had won three state titles.

Dubose has found success all along the head coaching trail. His stops included Susan Moore in 2002-03, Prattville (2008-2011), Florence (2012-2013) and Central Phenix City (2014-2019). He won 2 state titles at Prattville and won the 2018 7A crown at Central. His Red Devil squad went 12-2 this season, falling to Thompson in the 7A State Championship game.

Several other schools are looking for new head coaches as we enter 2020. Kevin Rose resigned at Bob Jones to take a job at Lincoln County, Tennessee. He had led his squad to three 10 win season during his tenure there. Roger McDonald has resigned at Ozark to pursue other opportunities. He had led the Eagles to two undefeated regular seasons in 2016 and 2017. Richard White is retiring from Dadeville after 20 seasons there. Bo Culver resigned in November after one season in Hartselle.

Childersburg, Hooly Pond, Lafayette, Elba, McKenzie, Southside-Gasden and Montevallo are among the schools looking for new head coaches.
