Two of the state’s finest assistant coaches have been elected to serve terms on the ALFCA Board of Directors. Two assistant positions are elected every two years and the districts rotated. The election was held at the general meeting of the ALFCA at the convention in January.
Representing District 7 is Russellville’s Tony Buckhalter. Coach Buckhalter is in his 15th year with the Golden Tigers where he serves as running backs coach and head strength coach. Coach Buckhalter previously coached at Starkville (Ms) High School. He was a four year letterman on the Mississippi State University football team at running back.

The District 3 assistant coach representative is Trinity’s Tim Bethea. Coach Bethea has been at Trinity since 2009, where he has been an integral part of the Trinity staff under Randy Ragsdale and Barry Loyal. Before coming to Trinity, he coached at Montgomery Academy where he won six straight golf championships from 2003-2008. He also had one runner up team at Trinity and MA.

Four board members were re-elected to serve their districts for another term. District 1 representative Ben Blackmon of Spanish Fort, District 3 representative Jimmy Perry of St. James, Region 5 representative Richie Busby of Helena and Region 7 representative Rodney Stidham of Hamilton were also elected at the ALFCA Convention.
